This is a lot of computer for the money. In fact, I doubt that there is anything on the market that even comes near this upgraded Hp Envy in features per $$. A friend of mine bought one of these Hp Envy computers at Best Buy and mentioned it in conversation several weeks afterward. I was ready to upgrade my computer to a desktop and so started shopping for a similar gamming machine with the same features and price. I could not find another like it on the web. So, I called Best Buy and they were not able to find this make and model in their inventory. I then called Hp to see if they had one in stock. They could not find an Hp Envy that had this many features and configuration in their inventory. They offered to make something for me and came up with several configurations and models and none of the could come close to this machine for the price. So, I ordered one from Amazon.
Well, it turns out that this machine is a basic Hp Envy that has been upgraded to a gaming machine by a company called The Upgrade King. When I checked my serial number with Hp, the basic Hp Envy comes up with basic features, no where near what this machine has. It appears that the vendor buys basic computers, upgrades them to gamers and sells them to outlets like Best Buy and Amazon at knockout prices. No one else had one in stock except Amazon at the time I ordered mine.
The machine arrived in a well padded box inside an even better packed outer box. It arrived in perfect condition and ready for prime time. After firing up the desktop, I checked it out and found that the primary hard drive, a 4 tb SSD, was only a 2 tb SSD, so I dropped a message to the supplier, The Upgrade King, and they immediately offered to take it back and send a new replacement with the proper size hard drive , or to send me a 4 tb SSD to swap out myself if I wanted that option. By this time I had spilled coffee all over my current computer, a laptop, and so I could not be without a computer at home. I asked TUK support person, Derek, if he could just send me a 2 tb HDD for external expansion so that I would not have to be without a computer for weeks. He agreed and I had the expansion drive a few days later. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen customer service like that. Kudos to The Upgrade King.
Well, my new Desktop up and running, is configured the way I like it and is so much faster than my old X-360 that there is no comparison. I am now running a 34” curved Acer monitor at 3440 x 1440 resolution with a refresh rate of 100 hz (could go to 165 hz but let’s not get greedy). So, while I could go on, let me just say that this computer is hard to beat for the money. Feature for feature, the specs can’t be beat and the Nvideo GeForce graphics card is spectacular. If you are a gamer, this is the machine for you. If you just need a replacement or an upgrade to your desktop, go no further. I love the machine and the supplier is top-notch. 5-Star all the way. Note: Just noticed an error in my review. My resolution is 3440 x 1440. Apologies. Also noted a $200.00 price increase since my purchase. Still well worth the price.
